Much has been written and published about public sector corruption by various NGOs in recent years. And while fraud and corruption is also prevalent in the private sector, very little has been done to lift the country out of the deep malaise.  According to past surveys conducted by KPMG and Ernst & Young, companies lamented that bribery and corruption was an inevitable cost of doing business in Malaysia.

The Coalition for Business Integrity Berhad (CBI) was conceived when a group of concerned citizens decided to initiate efforts to address the situation. With the emergence of anti-bribery legislations on commercial operations around the world including Malaysia, the group felt it was timely to mobilize companies to form a collective voice to make a clear stand against fraud and bribery; to raise the level of integrity in the marketplace for a better Malaysia.
