On 2 March 2021, CBI hosted a Members Night. We had a virtual “Meet & Greet” evening among members and CBI volunteers.  The opening address was delivered by our new Director Mr. Chew Phye Keat followed by an introduction of our three new members; namely, Chem Metallurgical Sdn. Bhd., ABAC and DID My Academy Sdn. Bhd.

Mark Chay gave an update on the initiatives currently undertaken by CBI. The research on supply chain bribery, a project jointly conducted with IDEAS with the endorsement of MACC, has been completed with a draft report pending approval. Thereafter we would hold consultative workshops on 6th and 7th April with stakeholders in three industries. Once everything is finalized, we shall launch the paper on 4th May.

On the corporate front, we shall continue to conduct training on Section 17A, ABMS and ISO 37001 as well as consultancy on these areas. Besides, we plan to offer training and consultancy on Industry 4.0 and Press Management with newly appointed resources.

In the education domain, we are progressing though hampered by the MCO, in reaching out to public and private schools. While our engagement with the Melbourne based Victoria University has ended due to their termination of the program in Malaysia, we are now exploring with UOW KDU on subjects like ethics, integrity and sustainability. Last but not least, we have a plan to reach out to the young working adults and undergraduates to prepare them for better employability with the right value, work attitude and productivity.

There were encouraging discussions amongst members and volunteers and the meeting ended at 9:00pm.
